Things to Know About the Delay in Health Care Reform
by R&I Consultants
The delay in health care reform, or the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), has been all over the news lately, but did you get all of the details? Do you know if the delay will affect your health insurance in Atlanta?
To fill you in, here are a few things that you need to know:
1. The delay gives companies an additional year before they must offer medical coverage to their workers or pay a fine.
2. The law is still on the agenda; it’s just the penalties that won’t be enforced until 2015 (you know, the ones that impact employers with 50 or more employees)
3. The delay will push more individuals into insurance exchanges. These exchanges are scheduled to go online on October 1, 2013. Learn what your employees want to do and provide them with accurate information.
To find out more about the delay, visit Benefitspro. Then, use the extra time to get in step with what you need to do and develop a strategy that will work whether or not this part of the reform act is implemented.
In order to develop a great strategy, be sure to read the updated Employer Mandate Guide for 2015 from United Health Care.
