In 2006, three individuals with a combined 52 years of insurance carrier experience took a leap of faith and planted the seed to begin Risk & Insurance Consultants, Inc. (R&IC). R&IC was built on the belief that if clients had a choice, they would pick service, knowledge, expertise, relationships, and trust over just a piece of paper and a promise to pay.

Given our deep roots in Cartersville, Emerson, and Bartow county we have taken another step of faith in opening our second location in Emerson, GA. We look forward to providing you the value, service and real knowledge & understanding of what you’re purchasing with your insurance dollar. We know that insurance is your first and second largest cost of being in business, so we will strategically help you create an insurance plan that works for you.

  • Dana Dorris

    SENIOR PARTNER

    Dana Dorris has served clients in the insurance industry since 2004. After many years as an agency owner and corporate executive, she came to Risk & Insurance in 2020 with extensive knowledge and training in the insurance industry. Dana is focusing on personal lines and small business insurance for the North Georgia area. She enjoys getting to know her clients, understanding their needs, and finding the insurance plan that best protects their assets. Dana follows the motto of “preparing today while protecting for tomorrow”. In her spare time, you can find her spending time with her husband Jeff, their children and their cute little “chiweenie” Tinker Bell. Dana has recently started working on her backyard garden and had her first harvest of squash & zucchini, YUM!

  • Collin Barber

    INSURANCE ADVISOR | PERSONAL LINES

    You may remember Collin from his days as a Punter for the University of Georgia, where he graduated with a degree in communications. He accredits his drive to succeed and strong work ethic to the years of training he received to be the best on the field. Collin’s new goal is to help his clients understand Insurance & how it works so they can make an educated decision when choosing a policy for themselves. Collin joined our Risk & Insurance Consultants team in January of 2020, and he’s been known to change a tire or two when a client is stuck on the side of the road in the time since he’s been here. Collin loves to be with wife and three kids outside of work enjoying every moment God gives them.
